    Crawford's manager explains why they choose Molina over other fighters including Diaz

    • John's got a good name.
    • Just came off a good win over Provodnikov
    • Rated pretty high with all the sanctioning bodies
    • He didn't want that much money. Everybody else wanted more money. Priced themselves out
    • He's tailor made for Crawford.


    • Diaz don't bring nothing to the table in terms of marketability
    • Fighting Diaz is going backwards
    • Diaz isn't known except to the hardcore fans
    • If Diaz had a belt Crawford would fight him and take it

      Molina just beat Provodnikov and is usually in exciting fights.

      He's fine as an opponent for now especially since Crawford already took out the top guy in the division--Viktor Postol.

          Oh yea. And when the date became available that dude with the IBF said he didn't want to fight and Eddie Hearn said maybe next year or Ricky Burns. Crawford and Bo Mac are saying they want to unify the last two belts before moving up but if both fighters are turning Crawford down it might be time to move up next year. Give unification one more year and if he hasn't gotten another belt it's time to move up

              Bo Mac basically admitted this is a cherry pick. He kept saying Molina is tailor made for Crawford. You can't fight Hank Lundy and then turn around and say Diaz brings nothing to the table in term of marketability.

                  Crawford is good but boring. After paying PPV and expecting him to at least try and produce an exciting fight but really him just fighting to win lost me as a fan of his.

                      Molina is rated top 3 by the WBA,WBC and WBO, Number 6 and 8 by boxrec and Ring respectively. He's not ranked by TBRB but as it comes to them.... Crawford is member 6 and Postal is number 1 so they're ****ed.

                      It's not a great fight but who else can Crawford really fight that has a name, ranking and coming off a ok win with Provo.

                              Crawford fan here but this one does nothing for me. Unfortunately, 140 isn't a great division but it might be a bit premature to go to 147 just yet.
