In a number of ways, and in an odd way it reminds me of Mayweather vs Corrales. Taller and stronger guy vs the smaller and more technical fighter. But I would not be surprised to see either guy win. Going with Lom simply based on one factor alone that has jumped out at me, the footwork. If Lom is going to win, he will need to use the in and out, side to side, turning and angles type game plan which he seems to do well.

For me, this could be the best match up of the year. I love watching Lomachenko; and Walters always brings it. Edge goes to Loma based on superior defense and movement. He seems to be sitting down on his punches more recently also. That said, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Walters came through with the win.

vs Salido Loma got the pacing wrong as he wasn't used to 12 round fights (lets ignore Salido's weight advantage and low blows for a second). He ended up with too much in the tank at the end (when he almost had Salido out on his feet). Salido paced himself perfectly in that fight - gave it all and nothing left at the end. Loma will never make that mistake again and now starts faster as he knows he can keep it up for 12.
Walters simply won't be able to land all night and will be caught with counters and offensive moves all night. I suspect Walters will look for a way out by the 9th or 10th.

If Loma continues his current progression of improving with every fight in the pros, this should be an easier win than anyone may predict now. A lot of Walters' hype comes from the Donaire win, but that was at a lower weight against a fading fighter, since then however we haven't seen Walters at the same level.
One would assume for the arguably biggest fight of his career, he will once again show his best level, and of course his power gives him a chance, but I truly believe you need much more than power or pure force to beat Loma, unless Loma performs passively like he did in the Salido fight. Boxing skills usually win the day in the lower divisions, and Loma is simply more skilled in most departments than Walters.
It looks like he has learnt from that Salido experience and will never allow it to happen again, though, so that 'win or learn' ethos might be true in this case - better take an L early and learn from your mistakes, and never allow the same errors to cost you in future.
