Comments Thread For: Schaefer: Golovkin Deserves a Split, Team Canelo Being Unfair!

Canelo vacated in order to avoid being manipulated into a horribly unfair 55/45 split because of a ridiculous 15-day negotiation deadline imposed by the WBC..... Canelo then continued to negotiate with Team Golovkin.....
..... the result of that negotiation was..... Golovkin said "I am 160, he is 155", then GGG fought Brook..... and Canelo said "I am not ready to move to 160" and then he proceeded to fight Smith at 154.....
the bold, is exactly what happened
you can spin it however you like
mpion. Both boxers are bound to participate in this bout and cannot
participate in an intervening c
ontest, except in special circumstances approved by a majority vote
of the Board of Governors. If the bout is promoted through purse offer procedures, the purse
split will be 55% for the champion and 45% for the interim champion. The WBC may alter this
s
plit at its discretion pursuant to the provisions of Rule 2.11(d).Comment

STOP !!
How the fk do you know that the WBC would not have enforced their own rules? LMAO
how the fk would you know genius ?
your quote is an " out " for the WBC, but there is nothing whatsoever to indicate that the WBC would have taken that "out"..... nothing
Those WBC clowns were rolling out the red carpet for Golovkin, that fact is plainly obvious..... unless you failed to notice that the WBC not only ranked the WBA champ Golovkin (against their rules), but they mandated him to Canelo..... despite ignoring the heavyweight kingpin and WBA champ Wlad Klitschko for about A DECADE LMAO
When the WBC mandated Canelo to a 15-day deadline it became plainly obvious that Canelo was being manipulated.
"De La Hoya reasons that it was a smart business move for Canelo to vacate his WBC title rather than fighting Golovkin, because it would have meant giving him a 55-45 split of the revenue with Canelo getting the bigger cut of the pie. But y vacating the WBC title, Canelo and Golden Boy can look to get a bigger cut of the revenue than the previous 55-45....."

and as I reminded you yesterday, Canelo continued to negotiate with Team Bull**** until the negotiation broke down over the weightComment

maxi, I will give you a legit reply.....
fair call, no argument..... good post ^^
2) just getting sick of this is all..... Golovkin has never had a career-defining fight, or even a meaningful fight..... is he really willing to retire on that note, having beaten nobody relevant?..... and, if he is unwilling to negotiate fairly with Jacobs/Saunders maybe it is time for him to stop the diva bull****, accept Canelo's offer, and fight.
it's not about the money, right ?Comment

You know the WBC would give a more fair $ split, since it's stated in their rules that they can overrule the 55-45 split. Period.Comment

I know no such thing
I know the WBC were rolling out the red-carpet for lil'G
I know a 15-day deadline is absolutely ridiculous
I know that the WBC broke their own rules when they ranked the WBA middleweight champion Golovkin, despite ignoring the WBA heavyweight kingpin Wladimir Klitschko for about A DECADE
How much money did HBO pay the WBC to get that done ?
how strange that you didn't notice any of that ?????
The WBC broke their own rules when they ranked the WBA middleweight champion Golovkin, despite ignoring the WBA heavyweight kingpin Wladimir Klitschko for about A DECADE.....
..... only a fool would rely on the WBC to do the right thing, especially with so much money at stake.....
..... anyway, Canelo continued to negotiate with Team Bull**** until the negotiation broke down over the weight, so it matters not
..... only a few days left now..... until Golovkin becomes just, the guy who ducked the #1 fighter on the planetComment

Maybe but HOW MUCH becomes the question
Hard to demand 50/50 from someone who don't need you! That becomes the problem for GGG and K2 then on top of that it is no other fight that is as big as a fight with Canelo for GGG. They're not going to "STRONG ARM" Canelo and Oscar into a fight on their terms, it is not going to happen! Mayweather couldn't get 50/50, Pacquiao couldn't get 50/50 from Oscar, Pacquiao didn't get 50/50 from Mayweather so GGG not getting 50/50 from Canelo! They will have to compromise or else it will be NO FIGHT! Canelo has a Loyal fanbase and he is still YOUNG so he is completely in the driver seat when it comes to negotiates. Canelo can go on with his career without having fought GGG and he would be OK and have plenty of opportunities to build up his legacy without GGG on his resume
His fanbase because of PRIDE they're extremely Forgiving. 51K coming out to see him doesn't seem to care who he fights they will show up to support him and that is what makes a fighter the "A-Side"
Canelo needs GGG if he wants to continue fighting on PPV. Truth, he can't keep fighting losers and expect to get a champion's pay. He got no belts and is a punk in the eyes of everyone.
GGG got a clean record, they can cry about his resume but the belts don't lie and neither do numbers and his are there for sure.
Canelo is the A side in every fight but if reporters keep asking him about GGG like they do now with every fight since Cotto, it's only helping GGG's popularity and hurting Canelo's.Comment

Nobody asking for a 50/50, they're asking for a 65/35 which is not arrogant on GGG's part.

he is the current WBO Junior Middleweight Champion
the WBO themselves just offered Canelo a shot at the WBO Middleweight Champion whenever he wants it
the way I see it..... Golovkin can either take the 10mil now, or he can negotiate with the WBO Middleweight Champion and current Lineal Middleweight Champion for considerably less next year, when he is 1 year older
