I'm sorry you're right. But the fact still remains it generated more internationally than in the US and the argument was that it didnt do anything overseas.

Every article i've seen says they made between $30 mil and $40 mil from international TV. You're saying they made $900 mil. You're a ****ing ******.

I'm from Australia and will be paying for GGG/Canelita on PPV. GGG has name recognition here but when you mention Canelita know ones heard of him. GGG will command the PPV here, just like he will in UK, Europe and many other countries.

Give him the same deal Schaefer got for Canelo against Mayweather. Where Canelo only walked away with $12 mil from the 2nd biggest fight in history.

way better fighters than Golovkin have accepted way less

also, Schaeffer is pushing it with his estimates

there is nothing to suggest that fight will pull 1mil PPV's

I think that is highly optimistic

Golovkin can pull 100k, Canelo can pull 500k, and the fight itself could pull another 200k..... those guys are not Pacquiao/Mayweather

Cotto > Golovkin..... and Cotto/Canelo only did 900k

If that fight pulled 800k it should be deemed a success

Caenlo-Golovkin won't be PPV in the UK. The only fight to be PPV that didn't involve a UK fighter is Mayweather-Pacquiao. They'll get a few hundred k for TV rights that's all.

All fluff... Fight will be in Vegas. Won't be a big site fee and also the extra sponsorships won't add up to that real degree. Let's face it this fight won't be a top 10 PPV fight. Maybe not even top 20. Just 2017's big fight. But I will give u an extra 5 mil of revenue for it all.

You're right. I'm sure he would make more with European opportunities than the suggested 10 Mil that's being offered. But it's obvious it can't be anything substantial enough to make him forfeit the cash he will make from American PPV.

Which is why they will haggle for that extra 2-5 Mil risking the whole fight.

Im not mad at anyone going for every last coin in this dangerous business.

the thing is..... Golovkin is not a huge draw, sooner or later he will have to dip his toe into the water and take 1 of the big fights that he is continually walking away from.

If Golovkin had fought Ward, maybe even Lara/Mora, he would have a higher profile..... and refusing to negotiate on the weight with little old faded 153lb Cotto..... was truly bizarre.

Most fighters would cut off one of their fingers for an opportunity like that..... Cotto was - and likely still is - Golovkin's best possible payday.

How much leverage would Mr "anyone from 154-168" have with Canelo if he had taken the Cotto fight?
