Good news for Shannon if true, but at the moment we are still waiting for an official announcement from the WBA – which seems to be taking a while after the recent collapse of the Wladimir Klitschko vs Anthony Joshua negotiations for a fight in 2016.
Team Klitschko want a version of the WBA title on the line to make the fight in the new year following a minor injury to Klitschko recently.
Likely this would be for the ‘Super’ version of the WBA heavyweight title and this match mooted by Briggs would most likely be for the ‘Regular’ version of the belt.
      One would have thought.
This can confuse fans at times in terms of all the different belts out there but hopefully today’s news from Briggs above is indication that an official announcement from the WBA on the whole situation is now very imminent.

It astounds me this clown is given these rankings and chances by the WBA.

Unlikely. Ustinov is ahead on the line.

But I hope it happens, as long it's still in 2016.

I just want to watch a HW fight.

I have never seen Brown fight but I'll pick him to win on points off his record. Briggs is way way way over the hill but he can still punch and he is almost impossible to knock down so who knows? Ortiz would beat either of them with ease. I won't consider the winner a real champion. There are just too many better heavyweights.
