Today's welterweights are strong. Trinidad was an all time great who held the welterweight title for 6.5 years until he couldn't make weight. Then he won the 154 pound title. He never lost a fight until Hopkins beat him. He had unbelievable power in his left hook and his right was also a deadly weapon. I think he would KO every top welterweight fighting now except possibly Spence. I think Spence might be on his way to being an all time great himself. I would give Spence a chance to win but none of the others including Mayweather.

Every thread about Trinidad has someone saying he used illegal wraps but he never did. He was never even accused or charged with using illegal wrap. He had to rewrap his hands for Hopkins because he used too much tape by New York rules. Tape protects a fighter's hand but doesn't increase punching power. Trinidad was a natural puncher who's power came from hand speed and technique. A fighter being made to rewrap his hands is common and no big deal. Trinidad was never charged with using illegal wraps because he never did that.

Cheato was vastly overrated and was average without his illegal wraps which Hopkins exposed to the world.

Current crops of WW's that beat him are Garcia, Thurman, Porter, Bradley and Spence....just to name a few.

If Hopkins exposed him to the world for using illegal handwraps why was he never accused of doing anything illegal or fined a single penny the way Margarito was? You don't no what you are talking about. Maybe Trinidad KOed a favorite fighter of yours and you never forgave him. His power was the same after Hopkins. Quit making stuff up. Mayorga has gone on record numerous times to say that Cotto is the hardest puncher he's ever faced. It's on YouTube ... Look it up!

Brook would have a decent chance due to his jab, and that he is about the same size as tito. But I think late in the fight tito pours it on and Brook wilts under the constant stalking pressure of tito..

Tito really is the only power punching bomber I ever saw that got stronger as the fights when on.. Usually big punchers slow down late in fights but tito did the exact opposite..

His stamina alone makes him a tough out for the current welters

Trinidad would run through everyone, none have the ability to box him or stand in the pocket and that's no knock on the division because 147 is packed with talent. Just that, no one has the ability currently to stop him.
