Cotto got stopped by Margarito with bricks in his hands right around the time his contract was about to run out with Bob, Dela Hoya robbery loss against Trinidad, same story.

That's why Walters was looking to get the most money possible for the fight against Lomachenko because he felt that Bob and HBO are favoring Lomachenko and that if the fight is close, they're gonna give it to Lomachenko, that was the reason for the hold up I believe. Talk about corruption in boxing.

    Yeah

This is a business, it's not friendship

If Arum thinks you still have value he's not going to go out of his way to make you earn for someone else. Look how long he dragged out Mikey Garcia. You want to leave he isn't going to make it easy. You want to leave why wouldn't he make that fighter catch a L or 2 to diminish their value

Is it ethical or fair , who's to say but there is no emotion in business so it is what it is

Probably all depends on who the fighter is and what value they have (and how much TR has invested in them). Rios is a free agent now and Top Rank let him go even earlier than they had to. Doesn't seem to be much bitterness from either party there.

With guys like Mikey and Chavez, you can't just let fighters out of a contract early because they want to or because they are being interfered with. That sets a very bad business precedent.

I doubt Arum had judges paid off to go against Walters, a fighter who hasn't produced any revenue for TR and likely never will. That is just Trump conspiracy type stuff.

Arum is still a d**k though.

Margarito made the most money in his career AFTER he got caught which is unprecedented in boxing, U get caught with bricks, your career is normally over and you don't get a license anywhere. Margarito fought Mosley the same night, Pacquiao AND Cotto in the rematch, made more than 10 Million. Was probably a part of the deal, you never know.

There's a reason why he was DYING to make Mayweather fight Margarito when Floyd was trying to leave him. Imagine if it was Mayweather instead of Cotto that night.

I wish the Wikileaks hackers would hack into Top Rank, PBC and other boxing promoters e-mails to see what **** they planned in the past, and planning in the future.

I doubt we'll ever find out exactly what is behind the scenes with PBC cuz about as in depth as Haymon gets with technology is a Tracfone.

I do think if PBC is successful in their "bigger than the UFC" goal we'll see a ESPN 30 for 30 & all sorts of books & a doc or two about eveything that went down in 2030, 2040 or some out there date like that.
