An interesting & intriguing matchup.. Povetkin is going to eat a lot of jabs but AJ is going to know about levels if he fights anyone of Povetkin's caliber.. Povetkin can punch from angles, has a good a chin but he has to take quite a few shots to land his because of the reach disadvantage, also Povetkin is an ideal candidate for an uppercut.. It will go to late rounds & Povetkin is built to go 12, AJ - not so much.. Wlad hurt Povetkin but he came back from the KDs, AJ punches as hard as Wlad did, so Povetkin may go down but I don't think he will be knocked out.. its a 50/50 fight imo..

Unless not clinched to death by a 6'6 250 pound man, povetkin is an absolute monster on slipping the jab. There was this 6'8 guy that Klitschko was unable to stopped and he stopped him by dominating him in the inside, controlling the range, and slipping the jab. If AJ gets reckless and just try to jab him, povetkin would seriously make use of his mistake and try to slip in to land that left hook and uppercut on the inside.

It all depends on how good AJ's chin is. I like the guy, humble, don't talk too much, just usually doing the "Nothing personal, its just a sport" answer, reminds of me of Pac in a way. But I would favor povetkin's counter left hook under the jab. I would favor AJ slightly, but I doubt he would win if he tries to jab Pvetkin to death, he is going to slip that jab and counter with the left hook all night unless he does the clinchko game plan.

At this very moment in time he stops both AJ and Wilder.

He's getting old so time is running out fast for him, he's being left out to dry like Ortiz is.

How good will Povetkin be post injury? If he can still stay on the juice (I rarely say this about a fighter but he went from being an average puncher to knocking guys down with jabs and KOing them with grazed shots), I think he can crack AJs chin but my boy is a full on beast and will get up each time.

A power punching version of Pov has a great chance of winning, if not, AJs superior size and speed will break Pov down in the middle rounds and unlike Wlad letting him go, drop him and stop him round 10.

Wilder is extremely lucky the fight got called off last year, i have no doubt in my mind that he would of relinquished his belt, not only that but he would of got brutally put to sleep.

The fact that the level's of 'ped' (it's not even known to be greatly beneficial in the scheme of peds) were so extremely low, it makes me highly su****ious of the whole thing/ coupled with the fact wilder's team called the whole thing off before the WBC even had time to comment, makes me think that haymon had something to do with it.

Sounds far fetched but previously Haymon delayed the mandatory fight with povetkin for as long as he possibily could, when he had no other choice he tried paying off the WBC, he then tried to get charles martin to fight povetkin, when that failed he then tried to make Wilder V Martin.

The whole thing stinks, and of course the casual fan will just say ' pedevkin doe'.

Anyway that being said i think it's maybe even now too late for him, will he get joshua in 2017? nope. Will the Wilder fight Ever happen? doubtful and if it does it will likely be at the very end of 2017 or perhaps wilder will get injured fighting another can and delay it till 2018 when povetkin is 40.

One thing for sure is stirverne stand's little to zero chance.
