And sure, they have invested a good chunk in Parker - flying him to and from Vegas, and employing Barry etc.

But they're also already making money off him. All of his recent fights - including against crap opponents - have been on PPV in NZ, with plenty of bars forking out thousands of dollars to show them. They've also broadcast some of his fights on sky in the UK.

    They ain't broke.

They want the fight as soon as possible because the less time Ruiz has to get in shape the better. He sounded pretty motivated for this fight as it's a really good opportunity for him. Taking Parker's mandatory spot for Joshua means payday.

If they can hold the 9s - with all the costs involved in holding such a massive tournament with so many players - they can hold an event for a sport that only involves 2 athletes.
I completely agree that it is in Parker's best interests to have this fight as soon as possible - Ruiz is the kind of fighter than if we flicked a switch and really decided to dedicate himself to becoming elite, he would be super dangerous. Now is absolutely the time to strike.

Definitely agreed on their ability to host the 9's - I should have said that the minimal time frame to put this fight together is maybe something that pushes them to their limits.

Either way, I just want this fight signed, sealed and delivered, let's ****in do it!

The home cooking happens everywhere. Maybe the UK is the worst. Terry O'Connor has to be the most bent ref in boxing, in my opinion.
