something not right there. they would surely be flying out in a few days and there are no contracts signed yet!! obviously the venue and all the other bits must be in place but talk about living on the edge - sounds like someone is going to get low balled and f**** with a last minute offer they can't refuse.

Can't really blame Andrade if the fight falls through. He is willing to go to Germany and has signed the contract.

What fight? There is no fight. Both have to sign and if it hasn't happened 10 days before its supposed to happen then at the very least it's probably not happening on that date.

it's actually pretty common. fighters "agree to terms" and move forward with training, and promotors move forward with the promotion, without a contract being completely ironed out [and signed.]

they wouldn't be this far along without some kind of an agreement in place.

can the fight be killed because of this?
                yes.
is it inherently damning that a contract isn't signed at this point? no. again, this happens.

I know it's common. But is it common when the fight is a week away?

You hear it a lot a few weeks after the fight is announced. Just like Kovalev-Ward a few months back. But I bet they have a signed contract.
