I won't deny it. Danny had an opportunity to fight a better fighter in this last one and he didn't. I would had been alright with Berto. Molina and this unknown made me get off the bandwagon.

But I shall be watching and I favor Thurman because of his boxing ability

Maidana was a top 10 guy at welterweight, Broner jumped up two weight classes to fight him. Porter was and still is a top 5 welterweight. Losing fights doesn't mean you can't be a top guy. Whether or not he beat them isn't relevant, I don't like Broner or think highly of him, he's a B level fighter at best, but there's no doubt he's willing to take challenges. He's now fighting Granados, who's high risk low reward.

When has a Spence or Thurman fight ever been on the table for Broner? For starters, those guys are two of the best welters around atm, nobody wants to see them fight Broner, we want top welters to fight other top welters, which Broner isn't. The guy isn't even committed to welter, he keeps moving up and down.

      You're a walking contradiction man.
well broner never disputed the terms so that should tell you everything. he just wanted more, never said they were lying.

matthysse left haymon because he couldn't get a broner fight. he kept trying to fight him but broner kept fighting guys like taylor and molina instead of matthysse.

broner did not jump up 2 weight classes. broner was champ and maidana the challenger when that fight happened. maidana had recently been schooled by alexander and had looked shaky againtst soto karass and lopez.

porter was a good solid opponent who had recently lost and he tried to drain him. these guys are not on the spence/thurman level when broner fought them and also...

i never said he turned down spence or thurman. comprehension is very important. i said those kind of guys have big upsides and broner has never taken on anyone with that kind of upside. all broners opponents were calculated risks against guys that were thought to be going downhill not uphill.

granados is going uphill right now which is why i said he would pull out because i was making fun of broner who always fights guys on the slide(like kabib) or at least on the percieved slide. if he wins good job though.

      • Granados vs Broner is make or break for AB.....

The loser of this fight will become a gate keeper even though they are both still young. Granados will come with his "A" game and Broner better be prepared. I'm looking forward to this fight.

So because Broner didn't publicly reveal the terms of the negotiations, it means what Bob said is true?

Matthysse leaving Al had nothing to do with Broner. He simply didn't feel like he was valued, plus he really wanted that Garcia rematch, which he didn't get, he was unhappy with that. Did you expect Broner to fight Matthysse straight after a bad loss against Maidana? How is that even remotely reasonable? And lets not forget, Matthysse fought Molina and that Ortiz guy, around the same time Broner fought the other Molina and Taylor. It works both ways.

I should've been more clear when I said jumped up two weight classes, he beat Pauli in his first fight after moving up two weight classes, then Maidana, not that it makes much of a difference. No doubt Maidana had an up and down career, I don't think too highly of him either, but for a fighter on Broner's level, it was a huge risk.

Thurman and Spence were bad examples, they are natural welters and both top guys, Broner isn't a top fighter at his own weight class let alone at welter.

It's about context, nobody thinks Broner is a top fighter, he's fought guys on his level and above his level. Do you really wanna see Broner vs top fighters, or do you want Broner in competitive fights, against guys on his own level?

          • It sounds like Broner is fighting a good opponent. Broner usually beats all but the best. He will probably knock this guy out if he is in shape. I base that on their records because I have never seen this guy fight.

ok broner's not a top guy but pbc is still pretending he is so maybe that's the problem. i have no problem with him cherry picking bums. i would do the same.

His losses against Frankie and Diaz are legit, but they were really close fights, against very talented fighters, both are considerably better than AB. He didn't lose the Solomon fight and his first loss wasn't even supposed to be an official fight. The draws against Tyner and Cintron were a joke as well. This is all in 24 fights and he's only 27. He hasn't had the luxury of being spoon fed to 20-0, he's had to fight everyone put in front of him, he's still learning.

He reminds me of a bigger Salido, the guy's output is insane, I don't see AB winning this fight if it goes the distance.
I forgot about Solomon. Another one on his list. Thats an insane resume for the number of fights he has had.

Granados is rated #8 JWW by the TBRB. Burns is ranked #10. either way he is coming back against a top rated JWW. what is the problem?

He sure destroyed that bum Demarco, the same Demarco who TKO'd Linares. The Linares who everyone claims is the best 135 fighter in the division.
