Dawson Clashes With Harding on 6/2

In a battle of talented, world-ranked, southpaw light heavyweights, unbeaten "Bad" Chad Dawson will get what should be his stiffest test as a pro when he meets Eric Harding in the main event Friday, June 2, on "ShoBox: The New Generation'' on SHOWTIME (11 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the west coast), In the co-feature, undefeated Mario Santiago will box an opponent to be announced in a featherweight bout. Dawson will beat Harding and convincingly. This kid has the goods from what I've seen.

Anyone see this Santiago kid fight? He any good? I'd expect IWatchBoxing to have the low-down on him...since he's mr puerto rico.

          should be good

It should be a good fight but I expect that Dawson will win. Harding has bounced back well from his losses to Tarver and Glen Johnson so he should be psychologically ok. He's not a big puncher though, and will have lots of trouble dealing with both the reach and power of Dawson. Dawson hasn't fought as a light heavy for long but at 6'3" he's probably headed for the cruiserweight division when he eventually fills out.

This is as good a shobox main event as you will ever see!

I suspect Dawson is the real deal and Harding will provide that gatekeepers test for sure.

I agree with this.Chad is the real deal.I don't see how anyone can think that a past prime Harding is going to give him much trouble.

I am very excited about this fight.Dawson is one of my favorite young fighters and trains here in St.Pete with Dan Birmingham.I am kind of suprised that they are letting him fight Harding in his first fight at 175 tho.He has great skills and good power I think he could beat Harding but it will surely be his stiffest test yet.

Crazy fight for me because I go way back with both of these guys... I used to train Chad for three fights as a pro (until Gary Shaw underhandedly, sneakily stole him away from his promoter and manager here)and I have known the kid sincehe was about 11. We actually used to spar quite a bit too, sometimes for 12 rounds at a time. And Eric was living in Philly when I brought him in as a sparring partner for my fight with Michael Nunn in 1995 and he ended up movoing to Hartford permanently and training at my gym... now here he is. Its also odd because Chad and Eric have even sparred with each other several times before.
