I know it's not easy, but just eating right throughout camp would be beneficial to not getting your face smashed in come fight night ffs.

Frankie Gavin is one of the ugliest fighters I've seen. I don't mean skills wise, I mean looks wise.

Why, despite being 5'10 does Gavin look like the smallest Welter ever? Even to the point that you could probably pinch some flesh if you wanted.

          Nuts.

He is a skilful fighter though

I've always said that he looks like he should've been down at LW, fighting Kevin Mitchell.

He could be world class down at lightweight. If only he had real dedication. Can't mix it with genuine welters, they're just too big.

                Frankie Gavin is terrible.

He usually stinks the place out.

He gave a good fight last night but to be honest Gavin is not even European level.

                Bundu beat him FFS.

He looks like **** and has a face like a slapped arse.

Just another example of the difference in being an amateur and professional.

Gavin is just another fighter who couldnt handle the transition from being a sponsored athlete who 'works' for team GB, to turning professional and being in charge.

When your money and status as a sponsored athlete relies on following your coaches and producing results, it is easy to stay motivated.

When you turn professional and are in charge of your own training fight prep etc, it is a different story. The trainers, S&C coaches and nutritionists work for the fighter, if he doesn't want to train they can't make him.

I've experienced this myself as an S&C coach. I've only ever worked with a few fighters, mostly prospects but the one high (ish) profile fighter I worked with didn't like being told what to do in the gym. It got to the point where I would train with him to show him I wasn't asking anything drastic but he just didn't like being pushed.
