Comments Thread For: Judah: Brook Showed Golovkin is Not Invincible, Canelo Can Win

Last month, IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (36-0, 33KOs) took more than his fair share of punches when he traveled to the UK to defend his belts against IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook.

I agree, Golovkin is aging fast just compare him to how he was 8 years ago, Canelo can defeat Golovkin and be #2 p4p behind Kovalev/Ward winner

8 years ago? Lol, I think you could compare anyone in their mid 30's to 8 years ago and see a big difference.

Agree with Judah 100%. And since many fans have written Canelo off, it will be a serious wakeup call when he has success vs GGG. Not saying he wins, but I'd bet the farm he will connect - a lot... and cause GGG a bunch of problems.

I agree that Canelo Can win . Before the Brook fight 90% of people were acting like the fight would be a walk in the park for GGG. Whether they fight next May or even September I think it's gonna be a tough fight for BOTH . But I do agree that GGG will be ( and should be )favored to win .

Agree that fight wont happen in 2017. Chickenelo only fights twice a year. He'll continue fighting older and smaller fighter before fighting a true MW contender. I see getting his azz kicked by GGG in 2019.

Anyone believes that bs? Nobody had ever seen GGG get hit - never?! Stevens, Monroe, Wade - all of them hit GGG more than once. We all can debate till hoarse whether it was deliberate big drama show by GGG or just sloppy defense, but the hits were there. I don't even mention Ouma and Rosado bouts when he had health issues during the fights. Personally I don't see Brook bout differently from Monroe and Wade. Really this pseudo hysteria "Brook exposed GGG"... Ffs Golovkin BEFORE THE BOUT said he would be streetfighting. I really can't believe so many people fell for this obvious ploy to lure duckers via "vulnerability". Rozier calling Kim "Lo! We will fight!" while GGG is still in the ring and then later re-watching Lemieux bout and thinking "Oops..."

I personally thought the Brook fight went as expected. Knew Brook was very skilled and would get in a few licks. The issue with all these guys facing Golovkin is that although they have excellent skills, once they get hit by GGG those skills become ineffectual. Once they feel his power they are reluctant to mix it up with him. Examples apart from Brook are Geale, Monroe, Rubio and Lemieux who just couldn't handle it. All skilled but couldn't pull it off after Golovkin cracked them. Not sure if Canelo would be able to handle it and unfortunately we may never find out.
