I somehow doubt that Canelo Alvarez knocks out / stops David Lemieux, when he failed to KO much smaller sized opponents like Miguel Cotto, Shane Mosley and etc. I'm not even sure if Canelo Alvarez fully carries his punching power to the 160 pound division and would subsequently be as effective there, like it was in the lower weight divisions, to the point where he will be capable of stopping / knocking out fully fledged 160 pound boxers like David Lemieux. So far, his only bouts against opponents his own size / bigger in Golovkin and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr proved that his punching power doesn't seem to have the same effect on those opponents. It could be because those two opponents simply had specially solid punch resistance which David Lemieux lacks. However, this is still a question mark.

Fact is, if Canelo Alvarez was so confident in defeating David Lemieux as some of the posters here are, he would've fought Lemieux, instead of Amir Khan when he had the chance. Perhaps, this indicates that Canelo Alvarez himself isn't as confident in defeating someone like David Lemeieux as the posters here are?

Me personally, I think a decision win for Canelo Alvarez is more probable than a stoppage win. If anybody wins by stoppage, then it's more likely Lemieux than vice versa. So if Canelo Alvarez comes to survive, doesn't engage much and potshots whilst doing the bare minimum to win rounds without taking much risks, he probably gets the win by decision. However, if he takes risks and / or if David Lemieux is able to walk through Canelo Alvarez's punches, then Canelo gets stopped in my opinion.

Canelo wipes him out in 6 rounds and anyone who thinks otherwise literally has no concept of levels in boxing.
      Styles make fights.

Canelo is better on paper, but he has bricks for feet and likes to brawl if you bring it out of him. Lemieux would force a fight and in a battle of attrition, Canelo easily comes out on the losing end. That's Davids kind of fight.

If like in the GGG fight Dela Hoya gets to pick the judges then Lemieux can only win by knockout. Canelo is a good fighter but NOT a great fighter. He wins way to many fights by corrupt judging. Lara beat him easy, Mayweather blew him out but barely got the win and GGG won by wide decision and was lucky to get a draw. Only ones who think Canelo is great are his nuthuggers and his handlers.

A fight like this could end in a trilogy.

A fight like this shouldn't happen. Let's see Lemule vs Spike.

I guess that's fair, since we know Canelo can never be the man at 160 since he can't beat GGG, we don't need him to face the best in the division anymore - Canelo gets a pass for ducking Lemieux.
