The only reason canelo fought smith and picked up the Jr middle wbo strap was to put him in the wbos good books.

If he knew he was moving straight up why fight smith? Why pay a sanctioning fee?

The wbo will probably install him as the number 1 contender because he was their champion at 154.

Saunders will get hold out for canelo or if he can get more money, a embankment Jr rematch.

I think both Canelo and GGG would Knock Saunders out. He reminds me of Liam Smith but bigger...

I never even thought of that??? Damn pretty smart move??? Saunders would be dumb to fight Eunbank. Eubank is much, much better of a fighter now.

LOL! Yeah he's milking this for all he can get. He reminds me of an UGLY chick at bar with nothing but guys and she's the only woman in there... Normally wouldn't even get a second look. Let alone all this attention.

Therefore, again, Alvarez will keep the WBO hostage at 160 and make a couple of defenses until 2018. Golovkin on the other hand, with his 2017 opposition and nobody wanting him to do an easy win at 168, will just do whatever other boring stuff at 160 and continue to be criticized by industry. In 2018 Golovkin is 36 if I'm not mistaken.
Yes. He turned 34 last April. It is sad to see even someone like Rigo be inactivive due to fear of the other fighters [LSC and Frampton when at 122 and Quigg even now] but the sadness is tempered by the fact that Rigo is not exactly pushing himself.

It is a much sadder reflection of boxing that someone who wants to fight the best at his weight class and unify is unable to do so due to avoidance. Right now it's Golovkin but a year or two from now it could be someone else - watch what happens if Spence gets a belt or 2 and Thurman and Garcia duck him.

There'd be an outcry but it wouldn't be as shrill as the one currently accompanying Golovkin. For all the hate on one side and the cheerleading on the other side you'd think Golovkin would have groped numerous women, said ***** was his hero and spoken about bad hombres and building a wall around Abel Sanchez [budget doesn't extend that far doe]. Maybe he should to generate budgets fat enough to entice even the most reluctant opponents into the ring.

Yes Eubank frustrates me so much. He has so much natural abilty/power/speed but he loses most of his advantages by trying to copy his dad.

Sr didn't try to box the way he did, that's the only way he knew how. Jr needs to find his own style.

I do think he'd have too much for Saunders now, that's why I could picture BJS cashing out if the price was right, maybe even set up a trilogy.

I said at the time I wanted Lee to beat Saunders. He'd not have been as inactive as Saunders and would have probably fought (and lost) to either Canelo or Golovkin by now.

Saunders just watched Khan make 4mil+..... so good luck low-balling him again next time LMAO
If I was Saunders I'd be angling for a Canelo payday as well. It's never good when one boxer transcends belts and rankings to become the cash cow as it holds up good fights from being made in the cash cow division. While Pac and Floyd were in the WW division the other boxers were reluctant to take tough challenges as they were all waiting for the lottery ticket. eg. Khan.
Now the same thing is going on at MW. Saunders has the lottery ticket.

What ever happened to Andy Lee? He went off the radar after the BJS fight! I have a feeling that Canelo will get to fight Saunders before GGG because he's a bigger draw and he's now affiliated with the WBO as the SWW Champion.
