Its pretty clear now he was trying to make the Klitschko fight, why would he be scared of Haye?
Hearn felt Haye was undeserving before, but not so much as Davey keeps himself relevant still. It's a money fight definitely and that's what he does, makes money. It's also a good fight in itself.

How is Hate such a big draw? You would've thought that he had burned through most of his credibility with the way his career has gone post Klitschko.

I think they felt Haye needed at least a couple fights to get rid of ring rust and what not.

2017 it could and should happen though.

This is what Haye must have been praying for.

The amount of hype surrounding Joshua is unbelievable.

Haye would be walking into a Win-win fight. Not only would I give him a 75-25 of icing Aj, but he would be expected by most casuals to be brutally stopped, alleviating the pressure on himself.

I think people forget how much styles dictate fights and for a fighter who works off his speed and being explosive, coming up against a more explosive puncher in Haye would take him completely out of his element. He leaves his chin in the air and would be too easy for Haye to tag for him to last.

Someone said it earlier, Haye would have no problem running and circling for 11 and a half rounds to land the one bomb he'd need.
