Because he is clearly more skilled and has faced better opposition so far.
In the other hand, Walters is getting underrated here, if he beats Lomachenko, and yes, he can, people will roast Lomachenko saying he is a bum that lost to a bum, but Walters ain't no bum, he is really skilled with an imposing size and good speed, really good timing, knows how to roll with the punches to take some power out of them and has one punch ko power.

Of course in an even event the general population will aide with the white man.
Gary Russell Jr got robbed and he overtrained.

Opening line was at 6-1 before any bets were placed.

Because he has a higher technical skill level... 9 out of 10 times, skills >>>> power

But this may be one of the times that power trumps skills... I can see loma starting off fast and dominating first half, and being up 5-1, 4-2 after 6 rds... But 2nd half of the fight, I can see loma slowing down abit (not gassing) and Walters landing a few hard shots, and walters coming on strong in the 8th or 9th and possibly stopping loma... Much like how Pavlik got outboxed early by taylor but then was able to land bombs in the 2nd half

Loma is better imo but 6/1 odds? Brooks had better odds than that against Golovkin didnt he? Walters can win the fight.
