Does one hard fight in five years make someone a warrior?

Cause im seeing more and more people saying andre wards proved himself to be a fighter who takes on all comers, chasing greatness, hunts out challenges etc. Am i the only person whos not worshipping andre ward for finally fighting an elite fighter? Isnt this what fighters are meant to do anyway lol
Thought the whole point of sport was that it was competitive and you compete against people of a similar level? So why the fanfare? Is this symptomatic of the modern day boxing culture is which people are so shocked that someone is fighting a hard fighter that they all go over the top with praise? Cause in my opinion having 1 hard night of fighting in around 1825 days does not make someone a true warrior.
It doesnt shock me that fighters are happy to fight bums year on year out, cause once they finally fight someone decent they are made out to be a hero, and the cherry picking is forgiven. Fighting bums should be the exceptions in these guys careers, fighting a top fighter shouldnt be an anomaly...

People can say anything they want about Ward, but no one can deny he faced the best, Froch, Kessler, Bika, Dawson, Abraham, Miranda and is about to face one of the best fighters in the world and you still have complains?.
    So he shouldn't face Kovalev?.
Yeah, face tough fighters is what fighters should do, but how many of them are willing to fight the best?, sorry, there is nothing reproachable about Ward facing Kovalev.
Until boxing recieves a low blow, fighters will do what they want and fight who they want, so a fighter who takes risks should be respected.

Ward will stink out the joint against Kovalev like theres no tomorrow

people expect a great fight, but Ward will do everything to keep a fight from happening

it will be embarrasing to watch at times, but Kova will prevail in the end and knock his ass out despite Wards dirty tactics and cronic hugging n running

then nobody will mention Wards name again

yeah, and to me, being a great warrior involves fighting like a warrior. Hugging and clinching and doing everything to avoid a fight breaking out, does not make someone fearless imo.
