    AT&T might buy Time Warner

If that happens, it would end the pressure Time Warner has been feeling for FOX trying to buy them. Ultimately for boxing fans, this could free up the boxing budget again.

There's no indication that AT&T would have any interest in undergirding the boxing coverage, especially with so much of the talent elsewhere.

AT&T is largely a wireless/phone company, looking for content to push through their systems to better capture their audience; with HBO's original programming being what it is, what's stopping AT&T from no longer *****-footing around what HBO has already been slowly doing, and simply focusing in on maxing ATT's streaming services and max out the attention put on the original programming and movies?

Here's an interedting article on AT&T potential strategy.

DirecTV Now, a live TV streaming service, will target the 20 million US "cord-nevers," but the company plans for it to be the primary TV platform by 2020.

Considering the amount of streaming delicated to live TV (60%) and sports' general success in that area, perhaps boxing on HBO will continue to be seen as an asset.

Or, maybe boxing as a monthly 'niche' pay service could happen through DirecTV. Remember, DirecTv was the backer for those BKB boxing shows.

          Who knows. Will be interesting.

At what point do our anti-trust laws kick in? Some of these buyouts are resulting in companies becoming too big.

In the case of banks some have become too big to fail. Which means they have really become too big to exist.
