Ward vs GGG, the whole truth! The whole timeline documented with Facts + Links

Summer 2013: Ward, (active and regarded a top P4P fighter) was offered the GGG fight by HBO, GGG said "Lets fight", but Ward said "No thanks" to a dangerous GGG fight and went on to fight Edwin Rodriguez instead.

Ward just recently commentated a couple GGG fights for HBO and seemed to be very very impressed, comparing GGG to Chavez Sr, just a better version overall, more power and better defense.

By Rick Reeno is a week away from his scheduled return. Ward, who's been out of the ring since November 2013, During Ward's period of inactivity, his name was consistently linked to several potential fights. One of those potential fights would come against WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (33-0, 30KOs). In an interview conducted last year, Golovkin's trainer Abel Sanchez said his boxer was willing to fight any notable name from junior middleweight to super middleweight. In a direct response to that interview, Ward raised his hand and said he was ready to fight Golovkin. At that time, Golovkin's handlers had legitimate concerns because Ward had an ongoing legal battle with his former promoter. That legal issue has long been resolved. During several recent interviews with Golovkin and members of his team, Ward's name has once again been raised for a potential fight. Golovkin's promoter, Tom Loeffler of K2, is receptive to the idea of fighting Ward but believes they need additional time to build it up into a pay-per-view attraction. Ward does not agree with Loeffler's response and views it as another excuse to avoid the fight - noting that Golovkin has attempted to face two different super middleweights, Carl Froch and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., in the last twelve months. Both Chavez and Froch are physically bigger than Ward.

Ward in awe while calling a GGG fight, saying GGG is a better version of Chavez Sr:

Winter 2013-Summer 2015: Ward inactive, not fighting at all, suing Goossen instead, sabotaging his own career, turning irrelevant as a fighter:
    Link: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/how-and...59-boxing.html

June 20th, 2015 Ward comes back, fights Paul Smith at 172, moving further away from GGG. Fight is on some irrelevant network called BET, Ward lost his belts, his P4P status and his couple fans. Ward has no drawing power and has to rebuild his name.
Abel Sanchez realizes Ward possibly cant make 168 and wonders why Ward talks about facing GGG yet fights at Light Heavyweight, moving away from a GGG fight:

July 2015 GGG is still being avoided by the top names, Froch ducks the fight and rather retires, Cotto who is lineal MW champ avoids his mandatory GGG, so GGG still would consider fighting Ward, who is pretty irrelevant at this time money wise, yet K2 tries to negotiate with Ward, but Ward delusional as ever, demands 50/50 cash, K2 says, if Ward demands 50/50 cash the fight can only happen if both fighters meet in the middle, at 164. GGG moves up 4, Ward moves down 4. Ward doesnt respond, doesnt try to negotiate for example a 45/55 split at 166 or 40/60 at 168. Ward is shook of GGG yet again, ducks the fight yet again, goes silent.

Late 2015: GGG announces his future plans with the WBC mandatory, the Canelo/Cotto winner sometime in 2016, his plans to unify all Middleweight belts and also announces the Lemieux PPV later this year:
    Link: http://www.fight news.com/Boxing/ggg...r-clash-302160
World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman said Wednesay in a visit to Los Angeles that he’s involved in negotiations that would call for the winner of a Saul “Canelo” Alvarez-Miguel Cotto fight in November to meet unbeaten Gennady Golovkin next.

Same day, 1 hour after GGG's announcements: Ward, still only one meaningless fight under his belt in 2 years, terrible ratings, sends a "genuine 50/50 offer" to GGG for a fight in 12 months time, in Late 2016, after a couple tuneups at a weight Ward wasnt able to make in 3 years when the fight would happen. GGG has to move up to 168, yet "zero concessions" Ward would get 50/50 and GGG would have to give up the Canelo fight and the MW unification plans. Not to mention, that Roc Nation is involved in all the GGG talks and future plans because GGG is mandatory for their other fighter, Cotto

A 100% hoax offer, yet again another duckmove by Andre Ward, who seems to be terrified of GGG after he commentated some of his fights on HBO.

Fanboys, dummygraphic and GGG detractors claim GGG ducked Ward and expose themselves, even though it is well documented that Ward ducked GGG all these years.

When you have just as little credibility as the extremist fan boys you are fighting against.

No one wins when you fight ******ity and bias with greater ******ity and bias.

Dunno. I never saw it is a 'duck' but then I don't use the term and the only real time I'd ever consider it is regarding not fighting mandos (and not even then, if there's a compelling financial / status fight getting in the way). Far as I'm concerned Golovkin never needed a 'reason' not to fight Ward - cross division fights are always entirely at the discretion of those involved and always on a case by case basis, but even if he did his position as mandatory to the WBC strap and a possible mega fight was excuse enough.

Reason I don't **** on about it more is that many of the guys who now label GGG a duck endured much similar language towards Floyd (and others) and some (not all by any stretch) of the guys who defend GGG also use this kind of language regularly and unfairly against other fighters. Don't know who started all that BS, but it's a sad little merry-go-round that's going on IMO.
