No? The lineal MW is a mockery and nobody cares about it. His only leverage is that a fight between them makes them both a ton of money, but that pendulum swings both ways. Canelo can't keep fighting nobodies for 250k PPV buys.

Winning a belt off Saunders would give him legitimate leverage since Golovkin's goal for past 4 years has been to unify the titles.

So, funny IF his goal was to unify the titles and Canelo dropped the WBC title and it was gifted to G why is he still chasing him? Maybe because both know Canelo is the money fight; hence leverage. Canelo doesn't need G;G needs him for a big money fight. Canelo can make 5-6 million fighting nobodies.

Who can G fight to make that type of money again besides Canelo?

EXACTLY, and since the G-string fans have approved, he can just fight nobodies, because thats acceptable to them, unless they are HYPOCRITES...Oh wait THEY ARE!

So will the fight between unified middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (36-0, 33KOs) and Mexican superstar Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (48-1-1, 34KOs) take place next September?

Sure buddy!! You always call GB liars and are scared for their 'cash cow' to lose BUT now they telling the truth.
