Comments Thread For: Canelo Says Saunders, Golovkin Both on The Agenda for 2017

WBO junior middleweight champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (48-1, 34KOs) is looking at facing both Billy Joe Saunders and Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin in 2017. Canelo captured the WBC middleweight championship last November when he won a twelve round decision over Miguel Cotto.

Lets how he does against Saunders. I believe if he struggles he'll push GGG even further back.

Although I don't agree, it would be hard for me (or anyone) to objectively argue against it given his resume. Cocolatito, Kov/ Ward, Crawford, Rigo still go higher on my list, but ehh. That could easily be refuted and should. That's what makes P4P discussions fun...

Makes sense. He wants Saunders first to get leverage in negotiations with golovkin.

If Canelo struggles against Saunders, and there is a good chance he will, he should postpone the Golovkin fight for a real long time because GGG is three levels above Saunders.

He does not want to fight a slick lefty, willie Monroe or BJS. He's just making noise mentioning the top guys before he goes and fights a Rosado.

Doesn't he already have leverage on G in negotiations?
