I read that HBO will be increasing their boxing budget for 2017. If this is the case, that means more money is available to get Jacobs and GGG the purses they desire.

Just make the fight. It was disappointing to see the fight is not happening in December.

Saul Alvarez is expected to have three fights in 2017 (Feb/Mar, May, September), Roman Gonzalez is looking for his own HBO date(s), Top Rank is looking for dates for Terrence Crawford and Lomachenko, and the winner of Kovalev-Ward (I sincerely see Ward not being opposed to move on) is going to be looking for dates as well.

Why folks think an "increased budget" is going solely to Golovkin is beyond me.

October 22nd is still the linchpin date for everything; if K2 can't deliver the fight, Lou DiBella gets the opportunity to deliver the fight for his broadcaster.

Seriously, I could see HBO reducing boxing if they get out of the cable/satellite TV business and go strictly online.

I think they would just as soon fight Jacobs in December 2016 as February 2017. They just want to fight Jacobs next. Jacobs said he needed more time to prepare and it was obvious there would be no December fight so they just went along with the fight being held a month or two later. It's really no big deal and it happens in boxing all the time. The most important thing to me is that the Jacobs-GGG fight happens next and within 90 days or so.
