I have no problem with this if that Joshua vs Klitschko fight is on the same day. And 120 days from September 12th is the second week of January so the fight is right on schedule. That December date is an HBO date that's why they've always said Dec 10th. Personally If were Jacobs I wouldn't want to be in camp over Thanksgiving AND Christmas.

Reading Fat Dan's article it says Loeffler is the one that doesn't want December 10th so basically it was a mutual decision from both camps so I guess its not just team Jacobs it's team GGG as well. This article only tells one side.
