Comments Thread For: Errol Spence: I Want IBF Title - Then Thurman and Danny Garcia!

Welterweight contender Errol Spence (21-0, 18KOs) is hoping to secure his IBF world title shot sooner than later. Back in August, Spence traveled to Coney Island in Brooklyn and knocked out Italian Olympian Leonard Bundu in the sixth round of an IBF final eliminator.

Brook needs to go ahead and make a decision, so Spence can move on with his career. No one is trying to wait a year until your eye gets set. Spence wants the tough fights and I believe he will deliver. I don't think Brook will go for the tough fights at 147, even if he managed to beat Spence.

Totally agree, but Spence also has to consider another contender so he can be the #1 contender for the other belts as well. I really want to see if he can bust Khan up. If he destroys Khan, who is in line for Garcia's belt, then he should be #1 for the winner of Thurman/Garcia. That way he has 2 options for a title.

Brook doesn't have to do anything, hes the champ.
He suddenly isn't gonna let go of the title, or fight injured ffs.
Brook isn't holding Spence career back haha.
Anyway i think Brook beats Spence

He can only take it one step at a time. After the IBF, he may be able to get a crack at Thurman or Garcia directly becaise they are all under Haymon. However, he should take these thibgs one step at a time. I would love to see him crack Khan though.

Brook has a title, but I distinguish that from calling him the champ. He's beat Porter and no one else noteworthy. I won't act like he's King Tut...

Why wouldn't he let go of the belt? He was the one crying about cutting weight. He said he may not go back down to 147. He has opportunities at 154 and he may do well there. So it is reasonable for him to let that title go.

I'm not calling for him to fight injured. However, if he knows that he isn't coming back to 147, he can vacte the title, so Spence can fight whoever the IBF wants to throw at him without sitting on his hands waiting. In a way, his waiting between moving up to 154 or not is slowing things down.

And finally, I disagree. I think Spence wins. Hopefully, we can see it one day, but I think Brook ultimately vacates (which I could be wrong about).

Brook you're not going back to WW...give up the title

If you think after several surgeries and weight draining himself to get back to 147 he's going to then fight Spence you have to be kidding. Brook will need 6-8 months to truly heal then train and will need a tune up before Spence which would put the fight probable to 2018. Let the young man have his moment and move on Brook no need to stall another boxers career. Let him get paid like you've gotten paid.

the IBF is either gonna strip him of the belt or make him a champion in recess while spence fights for the it since they don't have interim champions.

All Spence needs is either a title or a major fight to break through
