    New Super 6.

Would something like this work again and if so which weight divisions.

Pure fantasy here so lets assume that TV Contracts and all the promoters come together.

Purpose of the tournament is to have 1 Champion per division with the best fighting the best.

For me the two best would be Welterweight and SWW

    SWW
    Jermell Charlo
    Jermall Charlo
    Eeislandy Lara
    Demetrius Andrade
    Julian Williams
Canelo Alvarez (If he still holds a title if he does not he is replaced with Liam Smith)

    WW
    Danny Garcia
    Kieth Thurman
    Kell Brook
    Jesse Vargas
    Shawn Porter
    Errol Spence

    What do you guys think?

Nice idea but at SWW; the Charlos don't fight each other and Lara Doesn't fight them either, Smith would never enter that or Nelo.

The one at WW seems plausible.

      Winners IMO:

      WW: Thurman

SMW, which is bursting with talent new and old, would make an incredible Super 7.

LHW could have made an interesting one if Ward/Kovalev wasn't booked and if there weren't network issues.

HW might be the ultimate but it's all politics, junkies, and posers so it would never work out.

I don't like the supper six tournament idea the way they did it for the 168 pound weight class years ago. It took years to complete and tied up too many boxers. If the best would fight the best no tournament would be needed. Usually there are only 2 or 3 standouts in any weight class and not 6 boxers. Canelo isn't staying at 154. It's pointless to have Lara and the Charlo brothers in the same tournament. The brothers won't fight each other nor should they ever even be asked to fight each other. Lara won't fight the brothers because they all have the same trainer and are close friends. Just have Jermall fight Williams and Lara fight Andrade and the winners fight and you will know who the best 154 pounder in the world is. It isn't Jermell in my opinion. At 147 have the winner of Garcia vs Thurman fight the winner of Spence vs Porter or Brook if he come back to 147. Then the winners fight and you have the best welterweight in the world. Either weight class can have a true champion in three fights and 6 or 7 months. There is no real need to include 6 boxers and have many fights and wait forever for a champion.

well if they do, they should pick a better division to do it in then they did in the original one. Cause that line up was god damn awful lol

                    What do you guys think?
The simple answer is maybe; the initial Super 6 concept worked because 1)the talent at the weight class chosen was more than deep and 2)the amount of money able to be made otherwise wasn't all that gargantuan.

The concept won't really work at Welterweight or 154 (three guys on your list are in the same camp, in addition to the money already being too good for most of the top guys at 154/147).

Ignoring TV hangups, the most logical weight classes to try out the concept again would be 135lbs (Linares/ Flanagan/ Zlaticanin/ Easter Jr/ Mikey Garcia/ possibly Anthony Crolla), 130lbs (Pedraza, Lomachenko, Vargas, Coralles, Uchiyama, Sosa/Verdejo/Berchet/Gamboa to fill the final spot), and 118lbs (Warren/Payano/McDonnell/Haskins/Yamanaka/Kameda), with 118 being the easiest to put on imo.
