Cotto currently weighs 153, anything less than 151 is really asking for trouble..... I doubt that Cotto will do that again, not at this point.

and I kinda think that 151 is a little too much for Marquez, who is not a real welter

there always seemed to be too much weight seperating those guys to make that fight realistic

I guess the fight is there if Marquez is willing to step up

    doubt it will happen

no big deal I suppose, although that could be a cracker

I'm 101% JMM was on Peds in the III & IV Pacquiao fight. He's a cheat under Memo Heredia.

Freddie Roach should not have made that comment then. If Cotto can make 147 and JMM fights at 147, then what's the problem? What Marquez asked sounds like a great question to me...

It seems like a ****** question even though I am a Marquez fan. Cotto has been turning down offers to fight at 147 or even 150 for years now. Why would he suddenly change? If Cotto has agreed to 150 then Marquez should either fight Cotto at 150 or retire or find an opponent who will fight him at 147. Cotto will never fight him below 150.

JMM should have retired. He has not fought in almost 3 years. He is around 43 Yr. old and has knee problems. If he gets another fight, he would end like Sergio Martinez having knee surgery. Every time he tries to train hard there has been problems with the knees. I don't think he needs badly a last paycheck but he wants a 5th different division title. He is just not able to accept he can't defeat age.

Stylistically they match well, my only issue is if Marquez can at the very least look as physically capable as he was in his last fight. If he can propose a rehydration clause I'd even go as far as to say this fight can be memorable.

Cotto has always shown susceptibility to uppercuts and Marquez is arguably the greatest uppercut artist ever, Cotto can box a bit but he doesn't have a right hand and a counter puncher like Marquez won't have a difficult time catching Cotto's rhythm.

Too many whats ifs I know but if all those things can align, sign me up man, sign me up.

Oh and to add a bit, I'd say it's Cotto's weakness to uppercuts that has Marquez clamoring for this fight, I don't doubt that.
