He's a big guy 5'7 71', he could have made it to welterweight or light middleweight like Floyd, but chose to stay at 130, why?
Why didn't Takashi Uchiyama move up

Have you been to japan? Except for Sumo wrestlers, everyone there just seem to be pretty lean (some are thin).
I think Uchiyama is comfortable at 130lbs. He doesnt seem too muscular and dehydrated.
He could have moved up but maybe he has other things in mind.Comment

The man is 36 years of age, and likely doesn't even weigh 150lbs simply walking around, let alone come fight fitness.
The man turned pro at the age of 25, so it's not like he was going to simply keep growing either.
He apparently makes the weight just fine and is a seeming draw in Japan, with quality opposition more than available to be brought in for him.
what reason is there for him to move up to 135, let alone another 2 weight classes, to be put in position where he'd have to entirely leave Japan to compete?Comment

I don't understand the obsession with some here that a fighter has to move up.
Tom Boom Boom Johnson did his whole career at feather weight. If there is no need then don't go upComment
