Comments Thread For: Chavez: Only Estrada Can Beat Chocolatito at Super Flyweight

According to the legendary Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. - Juan Francisco Estrada (34-2, 24KOs) is the only fighter who can defeat four division world champion Roman 'Chocolatito' Gonzalez (46-0, 38KOs)

Depending on the long term affects that his hand injury has on his career, I can definitely see the rematch being much more exciting than the first one.

However, even if a biased statement from Chavez, I firmly believe that Inoue (also depending on his shoulder) can best Gonzalez.

So many people are talking about the fights that Chocolatito can make that they're not saying enough about Estrada. Why no threads about Estrada/Inoue or Estrada/Cuadras? Either of those fights would be dope and a W would lead to immense pressure on RG to give him a rematch.

The names you mentioned imo would have no issue fighting each other to get to Roman, however, Roman is the star in the division, all roads would eventually lead to him anyway. I've been clamoring for a Roman/Inoue fight before Inoue injured his shoulder.

Estrada was beaten pretty clearly on my card last time out, so I don't think he has a chance in the rematch.

He most certainly doesn't have a chance of a KO because he doesn't hit hard enough to really hurt Gonzales.

Could not have said it better myself. Estrada can try and beat other quality opponents while waiting for Roman. Personally, I'd like to see Estrada vs Cuadras. Winner getting Roman or Inoue. Most roads lead to Roman so Estrada needs to start somewhere and somewhere doesn't include Estrada's last fight. Roman went after Cuadras in his first move up and Estrada went after? Again, Estrada needs to earn a shot at 115 by beating a good 115...
