He didn't, Geale beat Strum for the WBA "super" title, then vacated, then in 2014 Golovkin beat Geale to win his full world title, the vacant WBA "super" title

In a bid to scrap some of its "redundant" straps, WBA ordered the "super" champ (i.e. GGG) to fight the "regular" champ (i.e. Jacobs). In case GGG doesn't take the fight, Jacobs becomes WBA "super world" champ...

Here is lil Larry paying ******: by pretending that GGG would be interested in the "regular" belt. Which he isn't -- he's only interested in keeping his own "super" belt.

Nobody in this thread has an idea what you're talking about. If you're counting # of title defenses, it matters for everyone.

If you're talking about anyone taking you seriously as a champion, then no, it does not matter for anyone. When Golovkin was 'regular' WBA champ, nobody knew who he was and nobody wanted to fight him. The only thing WBA 'regular' title gives you is the mandatory title shot against the 'super' holder.
-When Golovkin was WBA regular vs. Sturm, Sturm ducked him by paying off WBA.
-Now he's a super WBA title holder and wants to fight his mandatory challenger, Danny Jacobs, who holds the regular title. Jacobs is asking for more money, instead of embracing the opportunity to fight for 3 world titles.

You're trying to find double standards to suit your agenda, and the facts are just not there.

Golovkin has defended the WBA's full world title 6 times; the record for defenses of a full world title at 160lbs currently stands with Bernard Hopkins' 20 defenses.

Regardless of how hard folks want to disregard the fact, for Golovkin's first 10 "title defenses", he was a secondary beltholder to Felix Sturm and Daniel Geale.

To hear folks like you tell it, Daniel Jacobs is 4 fights into his own title defense run, with his fifth title defense on the verge of going to purse bid. Hopefully Golovkin shows up.

Why do you protect Golovkin? Because he's white. I like boxing I don't like someone who disrespects in you racist coward. All i ever say is Golovkin should fight a good fighter but you skinheads hate it.
