LMAO, Paulie Malignaggi Interview (Paulie dissed by fans)

Malignaggi is such an unorthodox fighter, he gives purists a heart-attack. In the fight against the southpaw Camerena, there were times that from a wide stance, he led with the right, left foot inside of Donald's right foot, his body twisted in the process, dropped his left down to waist level, thereby leaving his chin exposed for a right counter. Camerena never got around to taking advantage of it.
I think that part of the reason why Paulie's punches don't sting all that much is in his wide stance, coupled with his style which precludes planting his feet to put power behind his punches. The fella is always looking out for the counterpunch even as he delivers his own, thus, his feet are never on the canvass long enough to get his weight behind his blows.
Cotto can get to him IF Miguel tees off simultaneously instead of avoiding Paulie's assault prior to countering-- much in the manner that Sandy Saddler used to sometimes successfully do when facing Willie Pep-- but that can prove easier said than done.Last edited by grayfist; 05-09-2006, 10:40 AM.

Pauli could win if he goes inside and outside.
inside so that cotto cant hurt him and he could use his hand speed for body blow and then go outside but i dont see him doing that.
I think Paulie is an unorthdox fighter who will make some suprise.

I dont understand how people say Cotto can not box. Watch the boxing lesson Cotto gave Maussa, that was impressive.

Did I tell you my opinion on this?
If not I will repeat myself again: I want Miguel Cotto to knock that douchebag's head off into the last rows of the arena.
The Paulie dude only got like 5 ko's in 21 fights, does not tell much about his power, huh.

Cotto should not have to worry about getting hurt then. Now as for Paulie, I hope he knows Cotto can hit harder than anyone he's faced (actually, I dunno what Paulie's record is so).
