Garcia is easy to criticize, but I think he's right. I'd be willing to bet he beats Thurman comfortably, maybe even by late KO, IF they ever fight. I thought Matthysse was going to blow him out and watched how Danny just took him apart and schooled him. I really like Thurman. His confidence and courage are to be respected, but he has not shown himself to be a better fighter than Matthysse was IMO.

Danny beats Thurman. Thurman is good but Danny will be one notch above Thurman on fight night and whoop that ass.

Not a knock on Thurman just the fact that a guy can knock a custom mouthpiece into the 2nd row audience says a lot!

Unfortunate Matthysse was never a world champ, one of the few fighters in the sport that I give a pass on what he could've been if certain things turned out different!..

        Bring on Garcia vs Thurman!!!
True on Matthysee. He never won a belt because his promoters never got him a setup fight against the fourth-best alphabet belt holder or a vacant belt shot against soft opposition, like Burns, Broner, Liam Smith, Zlaticanin, Braehmer, and Danny Garcia for that matter. But "world champions" are a dime a dozen. Anybody can get an alphabet belt or two, few can be legitimate world champions

Nonsense. Khan is in no way a better fighter than One Time. Amir Khan has fast hands and that's absolutely the extent of his powers. He has nothing else going for him.

Lucas was good in his day. But Thurman is him, only bigger and more mobile. The only thing Mattysse did better than Thurman was fight on the inside.

Danny brings up him beating Khan and Matthysse 3 yrs ago and it's old news but Andre Ward is God for beating Carl Froch 5 yrs ago & a Crack head version of Dawson 4 yrs ago.

i understand what garcia is doing by bringing lucas and khan. but at welter, thurman is obviously a more dangerous fight than those for the simple fact that he is fighting someone bigger (didn't thurman fought at 154 lbs for a while).

Lmao I'm serious. Khan if he didn't had such a knacker for a chin he'd win most of the fights he lossed in!

Give Khan the chin of Hagler or Hopkins and he likely would have only 1 lost right now or just 2!

No way. Khan and Matthysse were both good fighters and top notch super lightweights, but Thurman is bigger and more skilled than both, with the power to make any fighter pay. He is a much bigger threat.

Even with Haglers chin...he still has Khan's crap defense...se he'd be losing on points any way.

Khan tries to throw left hooks in too close...

He also lacks accuracy...his 20 to 1 connect ratio won't get it done.
