Please name 1 competent British Referee

Last night's referee in the Bellew-Flores match was pathetic. That low blow changed everything and Flores never recovered. I am not saying Flores would have won but he deserved to lose fairly. Unfortunately this is way too common with British officials. I don't know whether they are blind or corrupt because every match they officiate is always a disaster if there is a foreign fighter involved. At least countries like Germany might have some dodgy decisions but they do not let referees screw you. I used to watch even when Ricky Hatton was fighting, the guy would violate every boxing rule, rabbit punching, hitting below the belt, wrestling you name it. In the post fight interview he would say 'I gave him a little of that' as if it wasn't a big deal and no one would try to reprimand him.

Can anyone please name one competent British Referee who can do a good job without biase or favour?

I'm not nationalistic or anti-Brit (Joey Zaggs is an all time fave of mine) but wow, they have some shyte referees over there. I don't even know if the ref that flubbed the Bellew fight was British but this type of thing is happening quite often over there and usually happens to favor the hometown guy. The fact that the commentary crew just skipped right past it was shameless. Wow. Imagine if the roles were reversed, that's all you'd hear about was the foul, over and over. Flores was an idiot for the way he handled it and deservingly lost but that doesn't take away from the questionable nature of the reffing there lately.

Cant think of much who isnt about that British Stoppage.

***** that pissed me off was the time when the ref jumped in as if he was waiting for the first sign of danger when Calzaghe was throwing those pity pat fkin girly slaps on Manfredo. That was such a gay azz girly combo , it's hilarious how he flail his arms like a ***in broad.

*** Calzaghe and his boring azz. One of the most unwatchable fighters.

Remember when the British commentary teams were known for their neutrality? When I YouTube fights I usually look for versions with the British crews but in the past year or so they've been getting unbearable. They make hbo sound neutral.

lol yeah cause ive never seen a fight elsewhere where a low blow gets in and the ref didnt see it (only about 100 in salido v lomachenko). And some of you are the same people who like andre ward so dont get me started on what the refs stateside have let him get away with over the years. dont know why you lot are crying about it, it wasnt the low blow which cost him, it was him complaining for ages whilst not looking at his opponent. If it was repeated fouls and flores was complaining i would be a bit more sympathetic but the odd low shot which the ref didnt spot isnt some massive crime

They are pretty bad. Victor Loughlin is good and Howard Foster Jr is a good referre if prone to an early stoppage though I am not one to criticise a fighter for that.

The guy yesterday is nearly always o.k. Missed a low blow but other than that was fine. To me it looked like BJ swallowed it a bit. Sort of like a Pavlik vs Gary Lockett affair. He convinced himself early doors that he was going to get stopped. That ref gave him plenty of opportunity to regain his enthusiasm for the fight at least - allowing three knockdowns.

Also the count thing is a bit of trick. There has been a few Americans now getting up at 9 and a half. I don't see the point really it is not necessary to 'save face'. It's boxing, people get stopped.
