Comments Thread For: Andy Ruiz, Abel Sanchez Reunited To Train For Parker Fight

There is a lot of discussion over a heavyweight bout between Andy Ruiz and Joseph Parker (21-0, 18KOs), which could be contested for the vacant WBO title. And as he prepares for this fight, the 27-year old Ruiz - who has battled the bulge rather unsuccessfully in the past - is back up in Big Bear, California with trainer Abel Sanchez, who is best known for his work with middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin.

Finally a major step up for Andy he can't afford 2b getting hit w/ shots some of those nobody's hit him with but he's got the skills really to move up in the rankings if he can just be in shape and keep the weight under 250...

I expect the tub of lard known as Ruiz to get thoroughly beaten by his slightly more fit opponent

Verry good for Ruiz Jr. to train with Sanchez at Big Bear!
There is no Burger King, KFC or McDonalds in sight there. If he stays there for about 2 months he should loose a lot of weight. And then we see what hes really capable of. I like that fight against Parker. Parker is the favourite of course, he has beaten Takam who is a top10 heavyweight in my oppinion.

I hope Ruiz is serious no fighter should be so out of shape especially in dinosaur land division. Don't be another Arreola waste any potential you have. Train hard you can eat boy steaks salads super complex carbs. Trust Abel look at ggg learn from him how to be a pro sacrifice donuts what's more important a belt or burrito?

Interesting fight, gut says Parker gets the win here but Ruiz is a live dog . Loving the way this year is ending. Great fights coming up and I am not including D. Garcia's fight in that statement.

Ruiz is a damn good fighter. It's hard to think that an unbeaten fighter, about to fight for a title, could be at a crossroads in his career. But his weight issues have been around forever, and if he comes into this massive fight out of shape, he may never truly get himself conditioned. This is his shot, what has he got?

It's a credit to him that despite being a round ball of burgers and fries - he's still shown phenomenonal hand speed and skills.

The path Parker has been on for the last couple of years, including physical and mental maturing, will probably be too much of a head start for Ruiz to overcome.
