Terrible idea. If ggg stops lara canelo would never fight him.

Name a big fight Lara was in other than the Canelo fight? Trout? People don't bother watching him on Showtime with both Charlos and Trout on the undercard.

That's because you think like a fan, not a boxer. Canelo already knows what it's like to be in the ring with Golovkin. Watching him beat Lara isn't going to make him say, "Omigod! I had no idea! "

I don't think Lara would act like that. Hell, I don't even think Lara is serious about challenging GGG. I also don't think he gives GGG the challenge some people seem so convinced of.

Yeah I am a fan of both, and if Golovkin fights Lara we could finally compare there performances

GGG has been fighting almost his whole life as an amateur or a pro.He is cool under pressure and nothing Lara can say or do will bother him or throw him off his game. He is a real pro in every way from his training to carrying out his fight plan in the ring.

If Golovkin were to win Lara would become a bum immediately and Golovkin would still have his resume questioned since beating a 2 time world champion means nothing.

But sure, I think you could call Lara the best boxer skillwise.

I think if HBO was interested in Lara, or any network really, he'd be a guy they'd pursue but there just seems to be nothing there, or better yet, if Lara was a middleweight and either had a belt or was ranked in the top 15 they fight him. As of right now there hasn't been any real reason to especially when you factor in Golovkin is an HBO guy and Lara PBC, usually it seems like there needs to be a good reason for them to come together (big money or mandatory fights).

If Golovkin were to fight Lara next, I think it would be a bad look. Fighting a junior middleweight right after a welterweight, that's just demanding criticism for fighting small guys. Obviously Jacobs is the best realistic fight next then I think Lara would make sense early next year imo.
You're usually pretty reasonable about this stuff but that's a lot of spin, as if you're explaining it to someone who doesn't watch boxing. Everyone knows Lara is legit, and a good step above anyone fighting at MW except for Golovkin. Beating a guy who everyone says got robbed against Canelo is a damn good look.

if jacobs is pulling a duck and saunders doesnt want to fight, then lara isnt the worst option. However does he even want the fight? Hardly seems to be calling GGG out
