Why Wlad doesn't take a tune up for his comeback?

The rematch with Fury was a matter of honour, i had to be done. but now with the cokehead clown gone, hopefully for good, Wlad shouldn't be rushing things

He's old, he's been inactive for too long, and unfocused on his job because of his crazy ***** of a wife. Ring rust is serious business specially at Wlad's age, furthermore, we dont know if he's still mentally there. losing to a self destructive chump like Fury in one of the worst fights ever can be a serious blow to your confidence

We know, Wlad. we know you're a brave man, you want to fight the best and to prove you still got it, but I dont think it's a good idea to be calling out the current top HWs yet

Joshua is young, hungry, and has killer power in both hands. yeah, he might be a slow stiff but for all we know, Wlad might have slowed down a lot too with all this inactivity due to Fury being a twat


Wlad should be targeting a low ranked HW and shake off that ring rust first, before going for the belts and the top spot again. Any suggestions?

He's 40 years old, not the most exciting fighter to watch and just lost after a huge run.

He needs wins against top opponents if he's to still be taken seriously as a force in the division now. A tune up or weak opponent does nothing for him at this stage.

Agreed, he's been in top quality sparring and training it's not as though he's had anything other than a 4 month break between November and April.

I just hope his next fight is worth me watching. I will watch him fight Wilder (hurt), Joshua, Ortiz and maybe Dillon Whyte. Otherwise, I prob will not watch.

When you have max. 1 or 2 yrs(stretching it) left in your career you cannot be bothered to have tuneups & frankly beating a no-hopers(anyone below #10) will not do your confidence any good either.. Mix in with the new HWs & get your focus back for one last hurrah!

but seriously its waird that Thopson gave him probably the best fights beside loses,Thopson was never player in HW but he could fight Klitchko like 50/50 oponent,styles make fights i guess.

Oh I'm not knocking Thompson. He's always reliable for a good scrap. He did give Wlad two good runs. I just had to throw that out there. Haha. I think it is a good idea for him to fight somebody in the meantime while negotiations continue to drag out. He's been on the shelf for a year already.
