In my opinion Berto would have been a tune up and a far better fight as well. I would have even been cool with Avanesyan who is also Thurmans Mandatory. There is actually a few fighters that Garcia could have fought as a tune up, which would have been better. Diego Chavez, Benavidez, Alexander, Felix Diaz jr. The problem with this fight is not the name, it's the intrigue. We already know when this guy stepped his level of opponent up, he got knocked out. We know he's not ready nor is he remotely close to a top competitor. Hopefully we get Thurman/Garcia next, it sure looks like we are.

Was Ward vs Brand or Smith not worst?

Barring injury, I think Garcia/Thurman IS next. I doubt Danny could go anywhere if he changed his mind and avoided Keef.

As for this fight, wouldn't it be interesting if Danny folds this no-hoper in like a half round?

Man this fight is just nine days away.

I have no illusion Vargas would win this fight. I just want it to go the distance, that's all. I want to see Samuel land at least a couple of hard punches on Garcia's face or body. Let's cheer for these lowly underdogs.
