I understand people being pissed about this fight. To be honest, I never even heard of Samuel Vargas before this fight was announced. However, if he is fighting Thurman next, I don't mind it too much. I'm not condoning the moves he's making, but I get the need of a tune-up - something a bunch of fighters do. If he beats Thurman, this will be a forgotten memory. With that being said, the Berto and Molina fights that everyone was crying about looks a lot more appealing now. LOL.

I'm a fan of Swift but like with Canelo saying he will fight GGG there is no signed contract or anything of the sort guaranteeing he fights Thurman next.

WBC already approved the fight. The WBC approved Garcia's current non-title defense with the understanding that he will be facing Thurman in a unification next. Haymon has already in formed the WBC, it was in an article yesterday.
