Comments Thread For: Sullivan Barrera Frustrated Over Fights Falling Through

It isn't like the 34-year-old has turned down fights either. He has accepted fights against a Who's Who list of the top light heavyweights, only for all of the fights to fall apart one by one for reasons that Barrera can't comprehend.

That is the state of boxing now a days. Anybody that will think that he is a real challenge are not going to fight him.

I like his attitude because he knows that he has to beat the top fighters to be recognized and to earn bigger pay days.

Too bad not to many fighters have this type of mentality

It's what happens when HBO blacklists dudes that lose to Ward miserably, and Abel complaining to HBO that Barrera said his training sucks and that's why he left doesn't help the situation.

Many people will have a hard time believing Beterbiev ducked him, but Barrera would trash him.

You have a "top" Cuban fighter in Barrera, with an extensive amateur background. He's also a bonafide LHW, who was previously undefeated and quite active. Then you have Ward, also a top fighter, but who has been fighting minimally in the past 4 years. He came up to LHW from SMW, yet utterly embarrassed Barrera. It was Sullivan's chance to shine, but he blew it. He lost to a skilled but undersized & rusty opponent in a big way. He said he gave Ward trouble, but not really. So who wants to invest in seeing him fight again?

Yeah, because we all know Beterbiev is renowned for his blistering hand speed. And by the way, he was knocked down to, by ****ing JEFF PAGE lol

He has 1 loss to Ward. I want to see him again cause Ward is a special fighter

I understand your position, but apparently those who can make fights for him don't feel the same.

He was off balanced, it happens, but he definitely wasn't hurt. Beterbiev has decent hand speed, not sure how long you've been following him.And almost knocked out Usyk twice in the AMS he would definitely work over Barrera.
