Leija (about Gatti) on Friday Night Fights

Was I imagining it, or did anybody else hear Jesse James Leija actually say that he thought Gatti hit HARDER than Kostya Tszyu?!? I'd like to believe that since Gatti is my favorite, and I suppose that if anybody would know it's Leija, but harder than Tszyu?? That just seems a bit extreme to me! He actually was very complimentary towards Gatti, and even said that he picks him to beat Mayweather (or was that Tszyu?? As in Gatti beating K.T?)
Go ahead..for some of you I realize I just made it 'trash Gatti time'! (unintentionally..I love the guy..so go easy please! )

He probably still under effect of that knockout.
BTW i am one of these rare people who give Gatti a decent to good chance of beating PBF. He just needs to make it a dog fight
and get PBF into a deep waters. There he has more chances to win or possibly score a KO.

lol..good point, but isnt that the point entirely? I know youre joking, but if he was still feeling it, then Gatti must hit harder than K.T.! I more than believe that Gatti can knock Floyd out..IF he can land flush against him. And thats a very big IF! I'd love to see Gatti whip him...more than anyone else ever could..but Floyd is so slick and so damn fast, landing against him wouldnt be easy. And even though I wish he would, I dont think he's gonna just stand there and take what Gatti dishes out, cause he knows he'd get ko'ed!! Youre right..Gatti would definately HAVE to brawl, and not give Floyd a chance to use the ring the way he does.

I dont think that landing flush on Floyd's chin will be the key to victory. Consistant body punching for a first half of a fight to slow him down and than possibly try to go for a knock out in my opinion is the key.
The only person I see landing flush on Floyd's chin is Tszyu because of his timing and handspeed.

lol..too true! Hell, Mitchell thinks he can beat anybody, from what I understand. Funny thing is, when I first started getting into boxing, I had a hard time not confusing him with Zab Judah. I dont really know why..but I kept thinking they were the same person! It took a long time to be able to keep them separate!

Maybe is just me, but I think that Leija just wanted to collect his last paycheck againts Gatti...I would love to see Gatti against Cotto instead of Floyd.

Why can`t Gatti hit harder than Tsyzu? Is there any reason for Leija to lie about it since he is retired and all? Tsyzu is a very good fighter but is in danger of being over rated because since the Mitchell fight ( which was an impressive win yes ) he is suddenly the hardest hitting best fighter etc...
Gatti is a pncher make no mistake and if Jesse James feels this way about his punching power so be it.

What I mean is that Leija looked like he didn't want to win that fight...just to get paid and then anounce his retirement..For some reason I think that Floyd-Gatti will be a boring fight.
