If these $350k figures are true he definitely deserves more. Not just because hes a great fighter, but because he is getting very good ratings in todays market. 800k people watched his last fight. Most cards these days seem to top out around a million.

Could it be said that the lower weights have historically always made far less than the higher weights? I like watching Roman but I've watched him with casual fans who can't seem to look past how small he is and as a result can't take him seriously.

Yes, I agree with the history part, but if the sport was to look to precedent when it came to who gets paid what we'd just continue to fund Fury's yak habit. Casual fans buy into the hype/ proper promotion of a fight. That's what drives PPV numbers initially. Good fights generate fans for a fighter or particular match up. Hardcore fan or not, a good fight isn't THAT hard to understand or appreciate, it's still two guys ****ing at each other in a ring. You can only get a casual fan once based on a sizzle reel. If the fight doesn't deliver they're not going to buy again.

IMO he should be happy with what they are currently paying him, because I'm quite sure that it is a great deal more than what the rest of the guys in that weight class are pulling in. If he prices himself out they can easily replace him with another top guy in that division and fans wouldn't be the wiser.
Oh really? when was the last time you found a four weight # 1. P4P fighter in the lower weights doing his numbers? his fight aired before GGG he already proved you all wrong many times they said he wouldnt draw...now that he does it was because GGG was fighting on the same day?! keep in mind his fight was in the afternoon! there is no other fighter doing what hes done you cant replace RG that is laughable!

He is an HBO creation, the fact that he is p4p no.1 despite the fact that nobody knew who he was three years ago is laughable. He eked out a win against Estrada, and got the benefit of the doubt against Caudras,so unless those guys are number two and three,he isn't number1. The whole thing about him getting TV time when they can't find room for fights like Lemieux vs Stevens is disgraceful. The entire charade seems like some weird socialist political move by HBO. You can't guilt fans into watching something that they don't want to watch. And before you say that I'am biased against little people I was a huge Donaire fan, because he actually merited admiration and wasn't a product of a ******* PR machine.

Do you even follow the lowerweights to even give an opinion? Cuadras was #1-2 @ 115! Estrada is P4P fighter they should be hard fights......and about your comment that HBO made him......unbelievable....listen man I love America but the rest of the world has a vote....In Japan and Latin America he was well known was the marquue headlining mainevents winning titles as he climbed up in weight years before HBO 'discovered' him...Im done with you talking about Le-puke and Stevenson in the same discussion with an elite ATG! **** off!

Lol at you calling RG an all time great. Also allowed to mention a potential Lemieux vs Stevens fight because I and a lot of other fans would find that far more entertaining than RG vs Caudras 2,make a poll you know I'm right.

Rivals of Gonzalez historically are ****, best was Estrada but in 108 pounds, drained. And Cuadras in a very close and competitive fight.

The best rivals of Gonzalez are Niida, Yaegashi, and pure class B.

Guys like these are easy work for Estrada, Inoue or Cuadras.

                    The difference?

                    The only diva is Gonzalez.
he a diva because he wants more money? bro, there's a lot wrong with that.

I'm a lower life form because I gave up on G.I. Joe's at the correct age, whatever. ✌
