This meaningless Vargas fight he's taking would have been more tolerable if he took it last June or 3-4 months after his last one as a stay busy fight.

I expect him to take another long layoff after this Vargas fight.

why not? The WBC was "nice" enough to move Vazquez to #13 in the rankings, so as terrible as it is, it still should count as a voluntary defense.

It's not even a voluntary defense. This is a non-title fight on Spike TV. I don't see what the issue is.
