Every time you turn around he's in the ring fighting....so evidently somebody is fighting him.

By nobody I mean none of the top guys. You obviously knew what I meant, I don't know why you insist on wasting your and my time by commenting foolishly like this. Surely there is something better you can do with your time?

In this age of catchweights, people moving up and down in weight constantly and 4 beltholders, not to mention super and diamond champions, theres a lack of clarity as to who the real champion in most divisions are. Gennady Golovkin has 3 of the belts and is looking to get the 4th belt, this ambition, however appears to be seen as a negative by many on this site.

In my eyes, welterweight, middleweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight are the glamour divisions, and these are the divisions where you talk about all the great fighters, not the junior and super weight categories. So why the demand for a fighter to move up in weight these days? Does clearing out a division and proving you are the best by taking and beating all comers of people who are the same size (the point of weight classes) not prove you as a fighter?

And do people feel its better for example to be a 4 weight world champion in which youve never really dominated a division, or become synonymous with a division by dominating it for a long period of time?
Dominating one division is fine. Lots of guys made their HOF careers that way. Nothing wrong with it.

For me, I want to see him move up to actually be challenged. I mean, look at it, man. Jacobs is taking a long time already and the fight probably won't get made. Saunders has been BSing around forever. Canelo might happen in 2017 but don't hold your breath. I think GGG would get fights at 168 and would further solidify himself in the sport. If he was 25, I wouldn't be saying this, but he's almost 35. Time is his enemy here unfortunately.

He can stay right where he is and I'm sure he'll do fine, but a move to 168 and victories there over Jack, DeGale and Ramirez would definitely elevate him and the fights would be considered much closer going in, which creates a buzz. However, if he can get Jacobs, Saunders and Canelo, then 160 is where it's at. For me, if no Jacobs, I think he should go to 168 and call them all out.

          Exactly this.

But on NSB, haters decided to use the fact that guys like Ward are a higher weight class to invent rumors that Golovkin is avoiding them (laughable) and worse still, pointing at examples of fighters who did move up as if that has anything to do with Golovkin at all.

MOVING UP IS NOT A REQUIREMENT. Hilarious that idiots on here think it's a determination of greatness.

yeah, i dont get why its seen as the biggest sin in boxing. Thought the whole point of a weight class was to fight against people your own size, yet people are demanding GGG put extra weight on for some reason

Do you really not get the reason we want him to move up??? this year alone he fought Wade and Brook..is this really the type of fighters you want GGG to keep fighting?? there is nothing impressive about the people he is facing..Jacobs, Saunders and Canelo are the 3 best fighters he can face and those might not ever happen...So he should just sit at 160 and fight the Monroes,Rosado's and Wades of the world and you are ok with that?

sorry to tell you larry, but the guys at 168lb are not any better than the ones at 160lb. Degale looked terrible in his last fight, Badou is the smw version of Sullivan barerra, Ramirez is still wet behind the ears
