  • Comments Thread For: Amir Khan Still The Mandatory, Will Enroll in WBC's CBP Program

BoxingScene.com reported earlier that former world champion Amir Khan was excluded from the World Boxing Council's October ratings. On Tuesday, the World Boxing Council released a list of fighters who failed to register for their Clean Boxing program. Fighters who railed to register for the program by the WBC's deadline were removed from the rankings or stripped of their world title. Registration was mandatory for every fighter ranked in the top 15 or holding a belt under the WBC.

Won the WBC Silver belt against Collazo on Mayweather vs. Maidana undercard. Apparently making him mandatory.

I think WBC ordered a tourney to clean up their rankings after Mayweather vacated. Garcia vs. Guerrero for the title and winner to face Khan.

Ridiculous that those two ever had to fight and then Khan would get the winner

Khan is nothing in boxing. Just a stepping stone by now.

How is it possible that 24 other fighters who failed to register for this program are dropped from the rankings, but Amir Khan remains the mandatory opponent after failing to register?

According to the article he registered late and explained why he didn't register on time

Funny, many fans are still just headline readers only. My thoughts on the subject... Khan would be a he!!uva lot more interesting fight vs Danny than Berto would be... and would generate more money and interest. Both Khan and Berto would give Danny a good fight though, so I'd be all for Berto getting a shot too at some point. But first, let's see the rematch.
