Actually I liked Braehmer in that fight. To bad the old man had to break.

For the duration of the fight, he was better than Cleverly and had the more significant punches, but Im talking about his whole career.

Before Cleverly he had an unbeaten streak since 2009, held the wbo title and the regular wba title, but you cant even count his good wins on one hand.

He had fights scheduled against Shumenov and Cleverly before, but cancelled both fights because of stomach problems or whatever.

Other than that, his only opponent during his reign, who was considered in the top10, was Eduard Gutknecht, but he was at the bottom of the top10.

The Shumenov fight got cancelled the first time after he got sick and flew home. A few years ago he was about to fight Cleverly, but his former promoter made it impossible to finalize the deal. The second time Cleverly actually walked away from the fight to fight Fonfara...

I dont have the time to search for an english source, but the article states, that Brähmer had to relinquish his wbo title, because he cancelled three fights in a row:

                  1) Alejandro Lakatos, because of back problems
                  2) Shumenov, because of stomach problems
                  3) Cleverly, because of an eye injury

I dont want to accuse him of something, but whenever he was about to fight a decent opponent, he somehow pulled out of the fight.

And taking a fight against Fonfara, who raised his stock significantly against Chavez Jr., was at the time the better choice

Well, I can read that article, no problem.
The eye injury he got after wiping his face with a towel is a joke. Brähmer's former promoter Kohl turned into a jerk after losing the TV deal. Brähmer said before the fight in an interview, that Kohl prevented the Cleverly fight from happening.
