Comments Thread For: Joshua-Klitschko Deal Must Be Reached By Week's End

ANTHONY JOSHUA'S mega clash with Wladimir Klitschko must be signed and sealed by the end of this week if it is going to happen in 2016. The IBF heavyweight king's promoter Eddie Hearn is still locked in talks with Klitschko's manager Bernd Bonte.

All the talks of this fight has just been hype. We all know damn well they won't throw AJ in with Klitschko yet. Waiting for Matchroom to announce the real opponent next week. It won't be Wlad!

Why does it have to be "THIS WEEK?"

He doesn't see any MAJOR issues? How is he gonna overcome one being with HBO and the other being with Showtime? This ain't no Mayweather-Pacquiao where everyone collaborated because of the huge money involved.

If the fight doesn't happen you can pretty much blame Fury and his embarrassing behavior.

I don't think the US tv networks will have much issue because the fight will be in UK or Germany.. And regarding the fight to be done this week, 10th Dec is 9 weeks out.. They need to market it and then the pressers etc.. It's frankly a rush to get it done in Dec. meanwhile Wlad can fight for a title in Dec and they will make this fight next summer..

That sounds about right to me. I still have a nagging feeling that Hearn has sabotaged it with heavy demands because he doesn't want it. He'd rather Anthony say on a safer path. But, I truly hope I'm wrong.

Yes but the fight will have to be televised through one of the two channels (HBO or Showtime). This is why Hearn brought it up. You think HBO will just say to Showtime: Here you go, you can have Wlad and televise his fight. Or vice versa?

This sounds rather random. Why would you say this? And wouldn't K2 or Klitschko be saying something about it?

I hope you and I are wrong about this and the fight happens.. But you see every interview Hearn gives, he says it would be good if we have the all titles or some of the titles.. He expects sort of a unification.. But the orgs aren't going to give permission to that when they have #2 and #3 evening a vacant title spot..

Because he's kept Joshua highly protected thus far, showing no interest in actually booking the type of fight a world champion should be involved in. Hearn tends to give his guys as many softballs as possible.

I've rarely seen the Klitschko camp complain to the press about negotiations unless it's something extreme, like what Fury put them through.
