De la Hoya would never fight PBF

If there's still one fight left in Goldie, and I think there is, I just don't see him taking on Mayweather, for several reasons:

    1. There's a hell of a lot more money in two other fights (Tito and Feroz)
    2. There's more money in two other fights (Mosley and Winky)
    3. PBF is an extremely dangerous fight for Oscar, especially for his farewell fight.
    4. I think he'll more likely a) try to get the most money, and b) try to avenge some loses (Tito and Mosley)

So for DLH - PBF to happen, Tito needs to remain retired, Vargas needs to lose vs. Mosley, and Mosley needs to look like **** in beating Vargas.

    In other words, not happening.

I disagree because I think Floyd's name has grown and if this fight is made, even the people who dont know Floyd will still buy it when they here it is Oscar's last fight and it will be against the best fighter in the world. When people here that Oscar is fighting the best guy out there then I think it will sell just as much as the other 2 fights. Also you add to that all the factors of Tito & Vargas looking finished, combined with Floyd Sr. training Oscar and I think this fight would maybe even sell more then them other 2.

I just now saw what you said about Mosley & Winky and you are insane about that. IF you think those 2 fights will make more then Floyd then you are crazy. No one knows Winky and people only know Shane because of Oscar and they think he sucks now.

3rd, I disagree with you about tough fights. I actually think that Oscar thinks like alot of fans seem to think, that Oscar can beat Floyd because of his huge size advantage. Oscar even said after the Zab fight that Floyd doesnt look the same at 147 and is not as good. Add to that he came in to the ring for a 147 pound fight weighing just 146 and Oscar probally weighed close to 170 for his fight then you have a huge advantage. Floyd probally cant even get to 154 pounds.

Then they way he just beat a big strong guy like Mayorga? Also I think you are wrong about how Oscar wants to go out. You think anyone will think anything special of him for going out with a win over Shane, Vargas, or Tito? All 3 of them look shot. Winky is ok but he isnt sexy enough. How many guys can retire after beating the #1 guy in the game? A fight with Floyd will easily secure his legacy as one of the All Time Greats and them other fights wouldnt do that. Those 1st 3 fights will just be money fights but a Floyd fight is money and history.

Floyd is no big time PPV seller and that's a fact. If you think that DLH - PBF would be as rich as DLH - tito or DLH - Vargas, you are very, very, VERY wrong. Tito and Vargas have a larger fanbase than Floyd, plus any of those two fights would attract a lot more of the casual fans, and casual fans are what make fights profitable. Diehards probably would rather see Goldie against Floyd, but us diehards don't make a good PPV. Mosley would probably be as rich as Floyd, but Mosley has two advantages: he'd be a far easier rival, and there's the revenge factor. The Winky fight is even harder to happen so i won't even go there.

Right now, Vargas is a far easier opponent than Floyd and I would even say Tito is too. But let's say Tito and Floyd represent the same level of danger, which opponent do you think Oscar would choose, given that he'd make twice as much in a fight against Trinidad?

Oscar's place in history is already cemented. He's a first ballot hall of famer so saying he's fighting for money and history is, at best, reaching.

PBF is considered the best. de la hoya i don think he is in searh of money i think he wants a greater legacy, if he beats tito then he gets revenge on a fight that many belive he won already, vargas ko in the 11th and vargas was on roids, mosely many belive he is 1 to 1 with mosely. winky and pbf are the next step for oscar and between the two pbf is the bigger name with a higher ranking

FLoyd has carried two succesful PPV's on his back. This fight will be HUGE and will make tons of money. Granted, Floyd isnt the draw that DLH is, but together they will make some serious money.

I disagree. Look, Im not dumb enough to think that Floyd is a bigger draw then Tito or Vargas but those guys are not the same draw they use to be due to there recent performances and Floyd is a much better draw then he use to be due to his recent good PPV performaces.

Add to that Oscar is the main guy so I think your wrong that it wouldnt be close. Kevin Iole is reporting that Floyd could make over 20 mil for that fight and you know Oscar will make alot more then that. Are you going to tell me that Tito will double that? The casual fan will definatly come to see this fight because its Oscar, its Oscar's last fight, and they might not know Floyd but they will know that everyone is saying that Oscar's opponent is the #1 guy in the game and that his father trains Oscar. Also I think Floyd's name has crossed over "some".

Therefore I just disagree with you that those guys would make way more money. Now if Floyd, Tito, and Vargas had 3 individual fights then they probally would make a fair amount more money but if you put all 3 with Oscar then I dont think its a big differnece at this stage of there careers

Yeah, I read that Iole article too, and I just don't know how can he possibly think that PBF could make anywhere near 20 million bucks. I just don't see it happening.

                  Time will tell.
