Floyd's entire statement is about what Legendary fighters of the past have done to cement their legacies. I simply countered that he was expecting too much out of Golovkin,who isn't a legendary fighter. I'm not sure why that statement upset you, since you seem to agree with that statement.

Mayweather and many other American Legend had the opportunity to turn pro when they was very young, some as young as teenagers others turned pro in their early 20's so as a PRO yes they was able to develop as a pro and pick up titles in different weight classes and move up because when they turned pro they had plenty of TIME and Room to Grow Physically. GGG situation is different, he turned Pro late after a LONG Amateur boxing career so you could argue that he probably did all his moving up during his Amateur boxing and maybe 160 is his max out weight? Same with Rigondeaux who people want to move up as well but Rigo is likely at his Max in weight. These guys are well into their 30's they're not guys who turned pro as Teenagers and never moved up. Not only that but I do think it is a desire to move up for GGG and maybe that would happen quicker IF the guys currently at 160 would agree to fight him? Look at the landscape of his division currently, he haven't even had the opportunity to fight the other top guys in his Division.

But lets not play ******, he is waiting for Canelo at 160 because that will be the biggest Payday of his career. Moving up is great but who at 168 can make him the type of money that he can potentially get with Canelo. Same at 175 the winner of Ward vs Kovalev is NOT going to get him the money he can potentially get with Canelo either.

He actually moved down in weight to begin his career, as 165 is closer to super middle than middle, and many of his amateur luminaries (Durrell,Bute,etc.) Campaign at that weight. I do agree that he is trying to wait on a Canelo payday, though.

You have to move up eventually as a small man to be great . Hopkins hagler monzon showed longevity at middleweight is better.

Hopkins moved as part of a second rare career later in life.

GGG obviously is going for longevity. Floyd needs to do his homework on the division.

165 is a huge welterweight,Canelo is criticized for being 173 or 174 at junior middle.
