When HBO discards boxing in 2018, where will K2, Main Events, GBP & TR go?

Industry rumors are rampant that HBO will very much likely drop boxing programming altogether in 2018.

With that likely taking place, what "power" would that leave those 4 current promoters with? It seems as though network budget dictates power and not the fighters themselves. We already see Top Ranks struggle as soon as HBO gives them the cold shoulder.

If HBO gives up boxing, it's back to the future with a twist

Showtime/CBS becomes the dominant name in boxing, Haymon/DiBella/etc stand as the "house promoter" for Showtime, with Showtime picking/choosing the fights from anyone else that they want to air (Saul Alvarez's fights, folks to bring in to face Andre Ward, etc).

With K2/ME/GBP/TR having very few chits to offer, and the options beyond Showtime basically drying up, I have no doubt that Top Rank and Golden Boy push harder with streaming fights, K2 likely takes Golovkin back to Germany (if Showtime shows no interest), and Main Events likely becomes Gary Shaw Production (bit player, called only to bring along a fighter)

Maybe not double, but they would have much better fights.. They basically the only person paying for boxing so they are gonna be calling the shots, and with every promoter desperately needing an outlet, showtime can basically buy the best fights and skip all the crap

Boxing is such a big business.

If HBO doesn't want t continue broadcasting boxing I'm sure other networks will take this business.

LMFAO, here we go again with you guys playing "business insiders", talking bout damn budgets n**** as if you guys actually had access to their bank accounts.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that HBO Boxing isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Canelo, Golovkin, Kovalev etc..they have several of the best fighters in the world and trust me, they WILL continue to air boxing on HBO.

And Showtime prob has a sht ton of money to stage fights, it's just that Al Haymon much rather grow his PBC brand.

This is all just common sense, you guys should try using it sometime.

HBO will jump to UFC if ever given the opportunity once that UFC Fox Deal is Up 2018 and if they do can't real blame them. UFC has a much brighter future than boxing at this very moment.
